I believe this may be a time zone issue.

I use the ‘preview’ as a proofing method before I send an email out. However, on a couple of occasions the posts that I saw in the preview did not match the posts that were sent in the email—even though I used the same date range.

I am guessing the preview works with my time zone—showing all the posts that I expect to see, but the send seems to be working on a different time zone (US I am guessing).

I am thinking that when I send an email, posts that I have created today (for example 03 May) aren’t included when I select “included posts created 03 – 04 May” because in US time, 03 May hasn’t occurred yet. I’m on Darwin time – approx 12 hours ahead of east coast US. My blog is set to Darwin time and my Nourish account is also set to Darwin time.

My time zone theory may be wrong, but the bottom line is using the same date range in preview and send can result in different post being included… for me anyway.

This problem makes me nervous when I send an email out because I don’t know what I am going to get until after I have sent it.

If I knew for sure what was going on, I could compensate for it. For example, if I knew there was exactly a 12 hour lag. However, because I am not 100% sure what is going on, I have no confidence in ‘tweaking’ the range dates. If I get it wrong by one hour, I could end up in a time bracket one day earlier than what I would like, resulting in another email with posts I didn’t expect.

This may be a minor issue, but it’s causing me to loose confidence when I send emails out.

Understood Josh. I’ll double check the timezone logic and get back to you.
