Hallo, all! Apologies if this is in the wrong place or has been posted before. I did search and couldn’t find anything.

So, I’ve been playing around with Nouri.sh for a few hours this morning to see if it fits our needs and if we should get a pro account. If we DO use Nourish for our communication, we’ll definitely want to customize the template.

I took a look at the template guide at http://app.nouri.sh/custom_design and it seems pretty straight-forward. Just a few questions:

1) Is it possible to include the SUMMARY from a blog post in the e-mail, rather than the full content? It seems like it might be possible, but I couldn’t find any documentation.
2) How is Nourish’s deliverability? Are there any steps that we need to take to make sure e-mails generated by the system are being delivered?
3) Is it possible to select the posts for inclusion any way other than date?

Really looks like a great application. I’m looking forward to learning more.

Cheers!

Hi!

I’m glad you like our app thus far, and here are the answers to your questions.

1. Yes, you can include the summary. You just have to feed Nourish an RSS feed that includes the summary rather than the full text.

2. Deliverability is good and simple, one problem though, that a few users have run into before is to make sure your “minimum articles” setting is set correctly, if the number of campaigns designated in the minimum articles setting isn’t met when the campaign goes out, it wont send. So please make sure to keep an eye on that.

3. Because Nourish is timed and automated, everything is done according to the publish date of the articles. that being said, you may be able to manipulate the original RSS feed depending on what you’re looking to do.

Hope this helps, and if you have any other questions please just let me know.

Thanks,

Anthony

Thanks for the response, Anthony. Just a few follow-ups:

1. So, what if our feed includes both the Summary AND the Content? Can Nouri.sh distinguish between the two and only include what you indicate. For an example, here is an RSS feed I’m thinking of using.

http://blogs.nyu.edu/blogs/ejf9434/steinhardtresearchnews/atom.xml

2. Good to hear. But I gotta tell ya, I just did some testing with my free account. Yahoo put it right in my Spam box. Thunderbird sent it to my inbox, but it said it “thought this e-mail was junk.” Gmail handled it fine. Is there anything we, the clients, can do to decrease the likelihood of getting flagged as spam? Or is there any sort of protection that comes with the pro account?

Thanks again!

Hey there… Been a couple of days since a reply to this post. I’ve shown Nourish around to some of the higher-ups here and they’re pretty excited by the possibilties. I’d really like to get back to them on these two issues so that we can move forward.

Cheers!

Hi,

Sorry about the delay getting you those answers, I needed to check with our developer about them. Anyway,
in regards to your question about content, there is a custom template that can differentiate between the summary and body of a post, but unfortunately this option doesn’t exist in the free version of the app.

As for your deliverability concens, as far as I know the pro account and free account work the same (I’m waiting conformation on this, though). Authenticating the Nourish servers to send email on your behalf will help. There’s an article on it here:

Hope this helps
